SAHARAWI
Previous Image Next Image

The self titled track of my new CD will be released this summer. The image of the Caretaker, will appear as part of the cover art.

Saharawi was composed for electronic orchestra and choir sometime in the late 1980’s. It was the aural result of viewing a PBS documentary about the nomadic tribes living in the westernmost part of the Sahara desert.

The music reflects the horrific “after battle” scenes that were fortunately shot on black and white film.

The composition premiered as a multimedia dance piece and opened the evening’s festivities with the American Festival of Microtonal Music at the Church in Manhattan’s Citicorp Building
